On January 11, the beautiful home of Martha Eisenberg ’85 and Jeffrey Levine, parents of a kindergartner, served as the backdrop for the annual Benefactors Society Reception attended by over 40 members of the Benefactors Society, the leadership donor program of Friends Select School.  The highlight of the evening was guest speaker, Jeff Cooperman ’80.  Cooperman shared anecdotes about his experience as the managing producer of The Colbert Report, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series on Comedy Central.

The Benefactors Society reception recognizes Friends Select’s leadership donors who provide over 60 percent of annual support to the school.  Through their generosity and the ongoing commitment of alumni/ae, parents, trustees, faculty and other members of the community, the school is able to bolster its already rich academic and extracurricular programs.  We invite you to become a member of the Benefactors Society by making a gift of $1,000 or more in unrestricted annual giving to Friends Select.   For more information, please contact Christine Jefferson, director of development, 215.561.5900, ext 141, or at chrisj@friends-select.org.

By now, you should have received a letter about the Friends Select Annual Fund.
Why are gifts to the Annual Fund important?  The math is simple:  Tuition covers only 80% of the cost of educating each student. The school relies on the generosity of the extended Friends Select community to bridge the gap in costs.

Annual fund donations are gifts that resonate.  They help ensure competitive compensation for our dedicated teachers, financial aid funds for our students in need, and the contemporary curriculum and programs that are the hallmark of Friends Select.

If you have already made an Annual Fund gift this year, thank you for your generosity.  To make a secure, on-line contribution, click here.

The value of a Friends Select education is incalculable. The actual cost of educating a child, however, is indeed measurable and escalating quickly. Tuition provides 80 percent of the school's operating revenue. To fill the gap, Friends Select relies on income from the endowment and on contributions from the extended Friends Select community.

Many alumni/ae, families and friends have made contributions to the Annual Fund a philanthropic tradition. These gifts from members of the Friends Select family weave a strong fabric of financial support -- providing the school's leadership with the financial flexibility to respond to emerging needs.

There are many ways to support Friends Select that will also provide tax savings. Please contact Christine Jefferson, director of development, at 215.561.5900, ext. 141 to discuss these options.  To make a secure, on-line donation, click here.

Businesses can donate to Friends Select School and pay fewer tax dollars as a result.  Click here to link to the state Web site for additional information.
