A special “friendship blanket” kept second graders connected during the Thanksgiving and winter breaks. Students decorated a large, fuzzy blanket with colorful permanent markers. Then, it was cut into 12-inch squares and each student took one home .“It was a tangible way for us to feel close even when we were apart,” explained second grade teacher Carol Sime.
