Along with Paul Norris and Alex Claypool, Kevin was in the 13-year club, which allowed the trio to develop a solid friendship both off the field and on. Today, Kevin is in the arts and entertainment industry. He runs DJ Brik Mason, an independently owned DJ company. He has toured the East Coast, Korea and China, released an album and has created remixes for Bryan Dunn, Maggie Kim, Lara Ewen, Kevin So, Baby Teardrops and Beck. Alex Claypool ’95 Alex Claypool has been described as one of the best baseball players in Friends Select School history. He led the 1995 team to the Friends School League finals, losing the championship game 1-0. After graduation, he became the first Friends School League player to participate in the Carpenter Cup Classic, an annual regional all-star baseball tournament. A left-handed pitcher, Alex continued his stellar career playing NCAA Division III baseball for Franklin and Marshall College and is tied for sixth all-time lowest ERA in a season (1996) with 0.82 ERA. Alex holds a master’s degree in geology from the University of Vermont and currently lives in Colorado, employed as a lead geologist for Fidelity Exploration and Production Company, where he looks for on-shore oil and natural gas deposits in North America. He also has an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Paul Norris ’95 Paul was an outstanding athlete in three sports, but he was known best for his skills as goalie for the soccer team. He started every game his final year at Friends Select and was an all-Friends’ League player. Paul was also a valued member of the basketball team, helping the team get to the Friends School League Finals during his senior year. Paul was a member of the 13-year club, the Minority Student Union, the Spirit Club, and Worship and Ministry. Paul coaches three sports, including varsity boys’ soccer, at Rosetree Media Middle School, where he has been teaching for 11 years.
