Prerequisite: Completed Algebra 1 (teacher recommendation required)
This course is taught by Robert Duncan, Friends Select SAT/ACT prep teacher. Robert has taught in the summer program since 2003 (Algebra 2 in 2003 & 2004; Geometry since 2005). He has served as a tutor since 1998 in a wide range of subjects, especially all high school math and science. Robert has a BA from University of Oxford and a MA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Prerequisite: B+ or higher in Algebra II, a love of mathematics, and no chalk allergies (teacher recommendation required)
This course is taught by Ralph Reinwald, upper school math teacher at Friends Select. He has been with the school since 1971 in a variety of roles including, math teacher for grades 6-12, technical drawing teacher, Latin teacher, History electives teacher, summer program math teacher, math department chair, student advisor, and business manager.
Algebra Readiness (Algebra Prep)
Offered July 9-20, (8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)
Prerequisite: For students entering Algebra 1 (typically Grades 8 or 9)
This course will review topics needed for students to enter into the 9th grade Algebra 1 course. It will be a review of important Pre-Algebra topics including word problems, operations with fractions and decimals, solving basic equations.
This course is taught by Erin Pratt, who has been teaching high school math in independent schools for 17 years. Erin has taught Algebra 1 through Advanced Calculus and in each course she has recognized the importance of strong numerical, problem solving, and algebraic skills. Through her undergraduate studies in Physics, Erin also recognizes the important role Algebra and problems solving play in the sciences.
