Join us for a one-week college planning course for high school students. Each day will be spent learning about the college planning process through the lens of the college admissions office. Students will tour a variety of local colleges, and learn about different resources available on college campuses. Participants will learn more about the type of college that might be best suited for them based on their learning and personality types. We will review the college search timeline and process, what to expect during a college visit, and options for students in summer prior to applying for college. In addition, we will practice interviewing and complete essay drafts. We will complete a sample application, build a resume, and learn about financial aid and scholarships. Students will begin or can continue working on essay drafts, and will engage in a mock admissions committee during our case studies exercises. This course will be taught by Friends Select college counselors, both of whom have extensive college admissions and college counseling experience. This course is open to all rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
