Student Clubs

Interior Masthead

There are a number of opportunities throughout the year for students to take part in community-building activities outside the classroom.

Devotions, Brown and Gold Day, and student clubs are a few of the many student-run groups that allow middle- and upper school students to connect with each other, share common interests, show school spirit and take on leadership roles. At the beginning of each academic year, students have the opportunity to join or start clubs. Here is a sample of clubs and organizations offered:

  • Animal Awareness

Student Affinity Groups

Black Student Union Club embraces the African-American population of the school and helps educate the school about African American culture/history and issues of race/equality. The club creates a safe space where all student members (regardless of race/ethnicity) can gather and discuss these issues. The goal is to promote diversity and integration within the school community.

International Student Union Club helps increase the sense of Internationality at Friends Select and helps the community understand the diversity within our international community. The club shares culture through food, community service, movies, discussions, art, language, dance, etc.

SAGA stands for sexuality and gender alliance. It provides a safe space for club members. We hope to educate the community on topics of sexuality and gender and fundraise for LGBT+ organizations. We also hope to connect with other schools’ SAGA / GSAs and any LGBT+ groups in the community. SAGA welcomes anyone who identifies as a sexuality or gender minority or who identifies as an ally.
