Parent involvement is a key way independent schools build community. We encourage every parent to volunteer in some capacity during the school year. Please look over the programs outlined below and fill out the Volunteer E-form.

Are you a people person? Be a Representative!

Class Representative—As a Class Rep you will work closely with the PA Board & committees, the teacher and the parents of the class. A key part of this job is to communicate information between the school, teacher, and the parent association to the parents in the classroom. You will also take the lead in organizing class/grade activities and social events with other grade reps. In middle & upper school reps are broken down per grade. These responsibilities may be shared between two people. Please note, there will be a class representative meeting at the beginning of the school year to help everyone get started. To express interest or nominate a fellow parent email us at parentassociation@friends-select.org.

Parent Admission Ambassador Program—Assist at an admission open house and other related events by welcoming visitors, working with the registration table, giving or assisting an admission tour (we will train you!), speaking with prospective families about FSS, assisting the lower director at Saturday morning play days, and contacting a new family during the summer months and through the first weeks of school. You may sign up to participate in one event or many events. To volunteer or to learn more, email Anita Bailey in the admissions office: anita@friends-select.org.
