2019 Fall Sports Recap

Here's a look at each team's performance throughout the season, including student-athlete award highlights.

Varsity Girls Tennis

The growth of the girls tennis program continued this year. The 2019 girls tennis team had more wins than in any of the previous five years. We beat a strong Westtown team for the first time! Our team found a nice combination of fun and fight throughout the season. Although many amazing seniors will be moving on, a core group of players will return for 2020. The Falcons are looking forward to next year!

Varsity Girls Soccer

This season started off strong for the varsity soccer team with big wins over Cristo Rey and Phil-Mont Christian Academy. We came across some challenging matches once Friends League play began, and unfortunately we experienced an influx of injuries mid-season. However, we had quick recoveries and were able to end the regular season on a high note with a big win against Academy Park High School where we celebrated our six graduating seniors, several of whom were able to end their careers with stellar goals!

Varsity Boys Soccer

This season enabled our young team to gain the experience of playing competitive Friends League soccer, whether it was varsity or junior varsity. Under the leadership of our encouraging seniors they learned how to communicate, organize, and show heart on the soccer field. Not only were we more competitive in our league games, but we also showed that when we have the right mentality, we can outplay our opposition. There are promising signs for this talented pool of soccer players!

With some skilled runners coming up from the middle school program, the Falcons do not plan to stop progressing and improving!

The season started with four wins and a tie, outscoring opponents 27-14 in the first six games. We had a great season as we saw the girls come together as a team on and off the field. They worked to improve in every practice and got stronger with every game. With such a young and talented team, we look forward to picking up where we left off next year!
