Record Number of Falcons Pursuing Collegiate Athletics
The class of 2025 represents a milestone year for the athletics program at Friends Select School, |
with a record number of students pursuing collegiate sports. Eight Falcons are continuing their athletic journeys, which speaks to the steady development of our program. This momentum reflects years of intentional investment in athletics, from recruiting high-level coaching staff to ensuring teams compete against stronger opponents and participate in college showcase tournaments. As team success has grown, so has visibility, attracting both college coaches and prospective students who see Friends Select as a school where rigorous academics and competitive athletics can thrive simultaneously. |
While the school has long celebrated alumni who pursue collegiate athletics, director of athletics Bill Klose P’21, ’25 notes that the opportunity now feels particularly accessible. "The goal is not to push students toward collegiate sports, but to ensure that those who aspire to compete at the next level are prepared and have the support they need.”
Looking ahead, new initiatives, such as a dedicated athletics open house, are helping attract prospective students while strengthening recruiting among coaches. Bill and his team also plan to build on the success by continuing to leverage the school’s close-knit community. “We are intentionally smaller, and this allows our students to receive great individualized attention,” Bill explained. “Students benefit from the strong collaboration between athletics and the college planning office. Our varsity coaches are also well connected with college coaches across the region to help our students get noticed.”
Together, these efforts are creating a pathway for future Falcons who follow the class of 2025 into collegiate athletics.
